In the month of March we commemorate the struggles of women throughout history to claim their rights and take their rightful place in society. These struggles have not been easy and have meant various challenges in different contexts and areas.
At Verdeza we want to highlight the contribution of Costa Rican women to our country, whether in the public or private sphere, and we want to fight with them for an increasingly fair and equitable society.
With respect to women who are in the stage of older adulthood, we recognize each of their achievements, whether as professionals, mothers, women, among others. Each of them has subjective reasons for which she feels proud and fulfilled.
Each of their experiences (positive and negative) today result in immense wisdom, from which they continue to nurture countless people. They are like a leafy tree that remains firm in spite of any obstacle and that experiences satisfaction when contemplating its fruits.
We know that these women inspire their daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and great-granddaughters every day and we are sure that they will do the same for the next generations.
Their life stories are examples of strength and courage. Far from romanticizing these life stories, we highlight their resilience in the face of adversity and a patriarchal system that on multiple occasions limits their full development; but even so, they have stood up as warriors and fought to reclaim what is theirs.
In this month of March we say to you: Cheer up women! From each of your spaces (domestic or extra-domestic) and thank you for each of your contributions to the development of a country.
