Let's talk about active aging

People who are informed through blogs aimed at dealing with issues of older adulthood in one way or another seek to learn every day about this stage of the cycle to contribute to increase the welfare of people who are located in it.

Active aging is a term that became popular a few years ago, but what exactly does it refer to? The WHO states that active aging is the "process of optimizing opportunities for physical, social and mental well-being throughout life, with the aim of extending healthy life expectancy, productivity and quality of life in old age". It is based on the fact that older adults have the right to have a life full of well-being, actively participating in society and developing in different areas of life, such as spiritual, cultural, among others.

This reflects the fact that we are making progress, as the way in which aging is viewed has changed favorably, since people know that this is a natural process full of opportunities, far from the view that older adulthood is mainly associated with retirement and inactivity.

In addition, older adults are increasingly encouraged to belong to a group where they can receive physical, cognitive and social stimulation, as is the case of the Verdeza Community, where our residents experience various spaces related to the integral wellbeing of the elderly.

In addition, we believe that older adults have a lot to give and a lot to say, and that society needs them as active agents who make their voices heard. And that old age can be lived actively and fully.
